It is our intention to give visual arts a place of importance at the table wherever women and myth are under discussion.
Often “scholarship” is served through publications and conferences and e-lists–all necessary, and all dependent on the printed word. Images reach us in different ways, and are equally necessary in changing the way we think. Many artists themselves are scholars in their own right, researching images and cultural traditions that fuel their work.
Myth in Living Ritual includes members’ artistic creations in the service of contemporary rituals and ceremonies.
Member Art Gallery features members’ interpretations of mythic women and goddesses. As you stroll the gallery, please don’t forget to check out the artists’ links to more of their works.
You might also want to see Mythic Images, a section featuring members’ photos and sketches of artifacts and sacred sites.
