Starts July 16–see details  below
Spiritual Heritages of Ancient Europe, with Max Dashu

Minoan Priestess with Serpents

Minoan Priestess with Serpents

We retrace the spiritual heritages of ancient Europe: goddess reverence, sacred dance, chant, and female rituals; women as seers, healers, and priestessses. We also track an interwoven strand: patriarchy and the demotion and repression of women’s power. This first course centers on ancient southern and western Europe, surveying archaeology, the written record, legal codes, art, linguistic evidence, and folklore.

Sources will include web lectures, ldiscussions (live and posted) and excerpts from Max’s forthcoming book, The Secret History of the Witches.

For more information about the course, including a short descriptive video (including images of snake dancers) see   http://www.sourcememory.net/courses/2009.html

Max  says “ I’m happy to announce that the registration link is finally up, but am asking people to wait until July 14 to sign up. The course is month by month and the clock starts as soon as you enroll.  Plus I’m not done loading content into the course site!”

Here’s how to enroll: http://www.sourcememory.net/onlinecourses. Hope you can join Max and lots of enthusiastic women, to help usher in the long-awaited print edition of her book!  Please forward this invitation to friends and allies…
